1. Roof

    Welcome to the Roof!

The roof at 170 is the cultural and wisdom vortex of our earth community. Please treat this special place with respect and awareness of the following rules:

No open flames! The roof is made of rubber and wood —it will burn down, if we’re not very careful with fire. Do not put cigarettes out on the surface of the roof. It can catch fire and holes will open up in the roof membrane.

No dogs! We like dogs, don’t get us wrong, but they do like to pee in our vegetables, no matter how great a dog owner you may be.

No Parties! The roof is shared by all 60 tenants in the building, so don’t go hogging it with your kegger. You are limited to two guests per tenant. Please take down all your trash afterwords and try to leave the roof in better condition than when you found it.

Don’t throw anything off the roof!

Don’t move any planters. They are wired up to an irrigation system, so if you move one, the plant may die from lack of water!

Compost (plant matter only) can be placed in the bin labeled as such near the rear stairwell bulkhead.
